It was a packed house at the Southwest High School cafeteria as we closed out the 2011-12 hockey season with our annual awards night. This year, the Storm introduced the Jack Jablonski Award in honor of  the Storm alum and Benilde Saint Margarets hockey player who suffered a serious spinal injury that brought the worldwide hockey community together in support for the Jablonski family. Jack personally selected the winner for the award.

There was the usual Cake and refreshments....and awards....lots of awards. A the conclusion of the season, the Storm go out to all of our coaches and ask for their nominations for the Awards which their players might qualify for. Feedback from most coaches is that they had a dozen exceptional kids that would qualify for the awards. It's true....we have great kids in our program. The awards given out go to the players that best met the descriptions for our awards (in their coach's opinion) out of their team.

Commitment, Determination, and Sportsmanship are what these awards stress. If a player didn't get one this year.....work hard for next year!
