What do I need to know?

Thank you for considering coaching with MHA!

 

Here are the scenarios that are common with MHA;

Traveling Team

If you plan to coach a traveling team and are new to Storm, please reach out to your level director on where you best fit into MHA. We want to be sure you spend your time wisely before starting this process.

 

In-House Team

Many parents decide to start coaching in-house teams, it's a great starting experience coaching. We always need you and look forward to you committing to the team you are assigned. Please complete the steps below and notify your level director as you start registration.

 

Student Coaches (Under 18)

If you will be under 18 throughout the duration of the season, follow these guidelines, https://www.usahockey.com/studentcoaches. Please read the description and understand the requirements and contact a level director to locate a spot for you.

 

 

*Before attending any on-ice coaching sessions, complete the following. Use your legal name and your information (Name, Email, Address), and not your child's.

1. Create a SportsEngine Account and connect to the Minneapolis Storm website, https://www.mplshockey.com/.

2. Create a USA Hockey Profile/Account at https://courses.usahockey.com/public/. You will use this account with USA Hockey. This will tie in your CEP, Online Modules, SafeSport and Background Screening which all need to be completed before/during registration with MHA.

4. Register with MHA, https://www.mplshockey.com/coaching, and complete the tasks/training as required within the registration. (Link below)

5. Signup to take a Level 1 CEP class (Virtual/In-Person) on or before 12/31 of the current year, https://www.usahockey.com/coachingclinics.
