parent game day duties

Team Managers should create a Game Day Volunteer schedule.

Head Coach (if HC is a parent) family should not be assigned game day or locker room duty.

Assistant Coach (if AC are parents) should not be assigned game day or locker room duties (unless the team has more than 4 total coaches).  It is unfair to the family  to require both parents to be present at a game/practice.

D3 Home Games:
  • Locker Room Monitor (1 person - gender appropriate)
  • Penalty Box
  • Scoreboard/Clock
  • Scoresheet
D3 Away Games:
  • Locker Room Monitor (1 person - gender appropriate)
  • Penalty Box
Scrimmages/Non-D3 Games

Volunteers TBD by teams

Some teams may ask a parent to record stats or run video.

Game day duties do not qualify toward DIBS.

*These are examples. Feel free to use them or create whatever works for your team.

locker room monitors

Refer to Locker Room Monitor TAB for more information regarding Locker Room Monitor requirements.

No other parents should be the in locker room.  If a player needs parent assistance with gear or skates then player should meet parent outside the locker room.

No cell phone or camera use in locker rooms.

Score board/Game Clock

Game clock operators should be experienced.  Game time is not a time to learn how to run the clock.  Parents that are inexperienced should learn how to run the clock during practices.

Resources for Game Clock:

Team Stats/Video

Team Stats:

Some coaches may want to track statistics for games.

Goals, assists and penalties will all be tracked on the scoresheet  and that data can be pulled from scoresheets post-game.  Some coaches may want to track shots on goal for the team or other data.

Discuss stats with the coaching staff and determine what stats will be tracked and who will be responsible for tracking stats (a coach or parent volunteer)

Video:

Some teams like to have games recorded in order for coaches to review game video with the team or broadcast games to those that cannot attend.  Discuss video with the coaching staff and if desired who will be responsible for video (a coach or a parent volunteer)
